When you are in Marmaris, there are several things
you can do. You can visit the historic castle that has
been built and rebuilt for thousands of years. You can
sail in the bay or Mediterranean Sea, or you can simply
enjoy the pool at your hotel, or the beach along the
sea.
However, if you are more of a night owl, you may want to
see the Marmaris that is legendary for its night life.
In the city, you will find some of the best bars and
restaurants around, all of which have something to
offer.
When you are out and about in the bars of the area, you
should make sure you sample Efes, which is a local beer
that is served everywhere. According to many reports, it
is very good. If that is not your style, you can go for
a more yogurt of a drink called Ayran, which is not only
good for you, but refreshing as well.
Of course, just because you are visiting another
country, it does not mean you can’t sample some of the
alcohol that you have become accustom to. Many bars
carry Becks, Budweiser, or Fosters, however do to the
fact that they are not domestic beers there, you will
have to pay extra since they are, in fact, imported.
If you want to drink wine while you stay in the city,
you will most likely find that it is very expensive, but
most of it is made in the region, so it is something you
should try out.
One of the best wineries in the area is the Villa Doluca,
which is well-known among residents.
As for restaurants, you will want to find some that
serve traditional Turkish foods, since that is what
being in Turkey is all about. You may be able to find a
good one within your hotel, and if not, you can go out
to one of the restaurants along the sea to have an
excellent meal that features seafood that is unrivaled
anywhere in the region.
